CEIGRAM is a Joint Research Centre of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) whose origin dates back to 2007. It was created thanks to the collaboration agreement signed between the State Entity for Agrarian Insurance (ENESA, an autonomous body of the MAPA), AGROMUTUA-MAVDA (a mutual company specialised in Agrarian Insurance, with almost 30 years of experience in the sector) and the UPM. Since 2017, AGROSEGURO (Agrupación Española de Entidades Aseguradoras de los Seguros Agrarios Combinados S.A.) has taken the place of AGROMUTUA within CEIGRAM.
CEIGRAM is established as a centre of reference and knowledge generation to carry out research and develop methodologies to respond to the growing challenges related to risk management, both productive, market and environmental, faced by the agricultural sector.
