The reciprocating engines laboratory contains a test bench equipped with a naturally aspirated Otto cycle engine, fitted with test bench and engine control systems, as well as a data acquisition system. The test bench makes it possible to monitor the engine's operating parameters and its response to the use of different fuel mixtures.
Research into polyfuel mixtures for internal combustion engines.
This facility makes it possible to study the behaviour of spark-ignition internal combustion engines when using different mixtures of both liquid and gaseous fuels.
The laboratory currently has two basic functions. First, to research the effect of polyfuel mixtures on Otto cycle engines. And, second, the bench is used in teaching tasks of a practical nature within the Fluid Mechanics and Aerospace Propulsion Department of the UPM¿s Aeronautics and Space Engineering Technical School (ETSIAE).
Alternative fuels.
