Mechanical design and prototyping of three-dimensional solids.
This equipment can be used to print three-dimensional solids of any design produced using CAD software. That solid can be of variable size and volume, according to the printer¿s capacity. The printing is done using filaments based on synthetic polymers such as ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) or PLA (polylactic acid).
Due to the price and the availability of the printing material, this equipment is used to validate prototypes and evaluate the mechanical design of custom-designed parts, composites or supports. It is currently used, inter alia, to create spare parts for industry and personalised tools for local use and for prototyping consoles for integrated systems.
This equipment makes it possible to develop a prototype rapidly and cost-effectively, allowing continuous experimentation during the design and development stages of research. The printing speed, the size and also the printing method allow multiple parts to be created at once.
