Metabolomics Service / CBGP mass spectrometry
Mass spectrometry
The metabolomics laboratory has equipment for the extraction, pre-purification and derivatisation of small molecules, as well as a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer connected to a gas chromatograph (GC-QqQ-MS/MS) and a hybrid mass spectrometer (ESI-Qq-TOF-MS/MS), which can be connected to an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) device or a nano-liquid chromatography system.
This equipment both makes it possible to detect metabolites and small molecules and can be used in the de novo sequencing of proteins and peptides. The services offered cover the absolute quantification of compounds of interest, such as plant hormones, amino acids, carbohydrates and their derivatives. It is also possible both to carry out supplementary statistical analyses and to offer solutions to specific problems.
This laboratory belongs to the Community of Madrid laboratory network. For more information, use the following the link: http://www.cbgp.upm.es/index.php/es/servicios/servicio-metabolomica
