The Mediterranean Botanical Garden is organised into various plant communities that are more or less characteristic of the central peninsular region, such as the Carpetanian holm oak grove, the basophilic gall oak grove, the supra-Mediterranean Pyrenean oak grove, the cork oak grove, the kermes oak-Spanish juniper grove and the riparian area. Many of the main species that are characteristic of and accompany those plant communities are represented.
