Sled test system to replicate crash impacts and to evaluate the passive safety of vehicles and to assess the level of protection offered to their passengers.
Automotive, railway and aeronautical sectors.
The impact simulator is a device used to reproduce similar deceleration pulses to those suffered by components, on-board systems and vehicle occupants in the event of an impact.
th e sled accelerates until a defined impact speed. Afterwards, the sled is braked by means of a system of polyurethane tubes or aluminum panel, depending on the deceleration pulses to be reproduced, in order to reproduce the crash of the passenger compartment of the entire vehicle. The cabin elements to be tested are assembled on the sled: seats, seat belts, airbags, tables, train drivers console desks, etc...
Biofidelity tests of Anthropomorphic Test Devices (impact test dummies).
Tests for injury evaluation of different types of occupants depending on the restraint systems used and the different deceleration pulses.
Tests aimed at obtaining approval certificates and at the same time having the versatility to support the industry in the design, evaluation and improvement of its products.
Development of Anthropomorphic Test Devices (dummies) with instrumentation, the biofidelity of these dummies and the injury criteria of these dummies.
The Passive Safety Laboratory (LSP) is complemented by the Impact Test Dummies Certification Laboratory, where the certification tests of impact test dummies and other research tests are carried out for the development of new dummies or new injury measurement systems.
The LSP has the appropriate facilities to carry out tests in order to evaluate and improve components that affect the vehicles occupants safety: cars, buses, coaches and trains.
