Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) for bone densitometry.
Health, Physiology, Sports Sciences, Physical and Sports Education
The DXA equipment performs non-invasive X-ray tests, producing images which can be used to measure bone mineral density and assess bone health, as well as measuring fat and fat-free mass to provide information on body composition.
Bone densitometry, also known as dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA), is a test used to assess bone mineral density and body composition. DXA makes it possible to determine the state bones are in and whether there is a risk of osteoporosis, as well as providing very interesting information on body composition, which is essential these days for overweight and obesity treatment programmes.
