The CTB¿s animal facility has a surface area of 55 m²; the total usable interior area is 30 m², distributed as follows: - Two independent areas for housing rodents. - Quarantine area. - Vestibule. - Small storeroom with space for enough consumables for one week¿s operation. - Laboratory experimentation area for surgical operations and behavioural studies. - Installations area. The facility provides a controlled environment for the animals, with regular control of diet, water, temperature, air, natural light/darkness cycles and living and handling conditions, as well as controlling the microbiological and genetic quality of the animals used in routine experimentation and periodic health examinations.

Facility designed for the breeding, housing and use of wild or genetically modified mice.
It houses the following types of rodents: 1. 5xFAD genetically modified mice, to emulate Alzheimer¿s disease. 2. Genetically modified mice expressing green fluorescent protein (EGFP). 3. Wild mice from the CD-1 gene pool. 4. Wild mice from the C57Bl6 gene pool.
