Platform designed and built by PiCoHiMA to study the behaviour of complex systems subjected to induced movement. The platform consists of a three-phase motor controlled by an RS 122-3411 variable speed drive, which, using a slider-crank mechanism, generates a rocking motion on a sliding platform. The platform has a capacity of 5 kg and a surface area of 40 x 30 cm. The variable speed drive allows the output frequency to be regulated, from 0.1 Hz to 599 Hz. The motor is made by Mini Motor and the model is PC 530M4T 20 B3. It has a power rating of 270 W at 140 rpm and rated torque of 154 Nm.
Development and manufacture of fuel cells and electrolysers.
Induction of mechanical stress in complex systems by means of movement.
This platform is currently used to assess the performance of fuel cells and electrolysers in marine and aerial environments. In such environments, low-frequency stresses appear due to the movement of the surface of the sea, in the first case, and high-frequency stresses appear due to the vibrations of the aircraft, in the second.
