The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid launches the School of Health Sciences
The new school of the UPM will be located on the Campus Sur of this university in southeast Madrid.

The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) supports to increase its academic and research offer with the creation of the UPM School of Health Sciences. The new center will be located on the Campus Sur at this university, located in southeast Madrid (3 mile A-3 Highway).
The regulation of the creation has been published in the Boletín Oficial de la Comunidad de Madrid by the Consejería de Educación, Ciencia y Universidades which agrees to the creation of the UPM School of Health Science.
According to Oscar García Suárez, rector of the UPM, the new School of Health Sciences means “the consolidation of solid research, teaching and technological in areas such as Biology, Biotechnology, Food, Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and the emerging area of Biomedical Engineering joining those that have evolved separately since the 60s in the INEF, and since the 80s in the others. The UPM will be equipped with new teaching, technical, management, administrative staff as well as necessary facilities to offer new degrees in the field of Health and Medicine”.
The proposal to launch the School of Health Sciences at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid was approved on July 20, 2023, by its Council of Government.
