The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) iscommitted to academic excellence and internationalization with the signing of a letterof intent alongside the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia. This agreement, which marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration, will allow for the development of a Dual Master's Degree Program in Civil Engineering, offeringstudents the opportunity to obtain two master's degrees—one from each institution—by completing part of their education at both universities.

Through this program, UPM students will not only enrich their academic experience in an international environment but will also gain access to professional accreditations in various countries, thus meeting global industry standards. This initiative is part of the strategy being developed by the School of Civil Engineers, which also collaborates with leading civil engineering companies where their projects require it.

UPM Rector Guillermo Cisneros emphasized the importance of this agreement: "Today we reaffirm our commitment to opening new horizons for our students, offering them international education that will enable them to play a leading role on the global stage. This collaboration will not only enhance their education but also open doors to a future full of opportunities."

The alliance between UPM and RMIT goes beyond academics: it is a commitment to international mobility, the promotion of joint research, and the strengthening of academic supervision between the two institutions. Both universities expect to formalize this agreement in the short term, with the conviction that this initiative will be a success for future generations of Civil Engineers.
