The European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) brings together agricultural economists and others interested in the problems of the agricultural and food industries and rural development in Europe. It currently has around 1,100 members. Its principal activities include the holding of a triennial Congress on a general theme, the organization of seminars devoted to more specific subjects and the publication of an electronic newsflash and the publication 'EuroChoices'. The European Review of Agricultural Economics (ERAE) is the official journal of the Association. Objectives The main objectives of the Association are: (a) the furtherance of knowledge and understanding of agricultural economics, especially in the European context; (b) the exchange of experience, ideas and information between agricultural economists. History The European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) was established on 28 August 1975 in Uppsala (Sweden) as a result of the first European Congress of Agricultural Economists. By establishing the EAAE, her founders created a new framework to support live interaction among agricultural economists, especially, but not exclusively in Europe. Since then the EAAE congresses and the European seminars organized focused on the latest issues of agricultural developments and the future tasks the sector faced. Furthermore, by creating the EAAE a new forum for professional communication was created. More information; Composition of EAAE Boards from 1975 | |
