A new hybrid Geometrical-Physical Optics method is employed to determine the quiet zone field of a Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) serrated single reflector with improved accuracy. The method is based on the modeling of the reflector as a set of equivalent rectangular apertures placed over its surface. This solution is well suited to the analysis of serrated edge reflectors. Comparisons with other techniques are shown to validate the method and its advantages over them are discussed. The performance of a published classical reference CATR is analyzed expressing the quiet zone field by means of taper and ripple of both amplitude and phase. Some future applications of this approach are discussed as well. | |
