The main objective of the thermoactive building constructions is the integration of the concrete structure of the building, enhancing its storage capacity and thermal inertia, as anelement of heating and cooling in a system of high efficiency and low emissions able to use renewable energy and other wasted energies. Existing studies on the mechanical behavior of concrete subjected to temperature changes, are aimed primarily at high temperatures caused by fires and stored fluids in nuclear deposits, but there are no specific studies to establish the influence of moderate temperatures over the mechanical behavior of concrete. For this purpose, it has been performed an experimental campaign of cylindrical specimens (100 mm in diameter and 200 mm in height) and cubic specimens (100 x 100 x 100 cm3) with two concrete types (H-25 and H-30) and have been subjected to four different temperatures: 20ºC, 40ºC, 70ºC and 100ºC. It can be affirmed that the concrete mechanical properties of thermos-active building systems are not jeopardized with strength losses of more than 20% because the fluid temperature is always below 70ºC. | |
