Six-port receiver is a valid alternative to conventional receiver architectures, especially for high frequencies and large bandwidths. However, broadband sixport network designs lead to large size circuits, especially for operating frequencies in the lower gigahertz region. New technologies must be explored in order to achieve compact size and low-cost productions for configurable radio terminals. This paper proposes the LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) technology as a good candidate for six-port architecture reduction. The design, fabrication and measurement of an LTCC six-port network are presented in this paper. This circuit is part of a six-port receiver for Software Defined Radio (SDR). | |
